No spoilers are required in this thread. The assumption is you've read the material already. That is why this thread exists--to provide a place for people to talk without having to try to avoid giving away secrets.

It seems like we have a large number of characters to whom Tarvek was first introduced as a villain and who have had no time or reason to change that impression. I wonder if this is going to bite someone in the butt. Wooster would be one, especially with Gil in the book warning him specifically not to trust what he sees around Tarvek. The Jagers in general would be another group - Anevka laid it on pretty thick for the rescue team. Although Krosp and Zeetha seem to be managing - I do wonder what they think of Agatha's keeping him around, though. Even with all that time in the castle arc, there are a lot of characters who barely interacted with each other.

Yes. And Phil made that even clearer in the novelization: that there are plenty of people going in with a lot of false information. A fact that the current page seems to stress, though not in regards to Tarvek in particular. But the whole "rumor/gossip/misinformation" trope is running very high, between Klaus/Lu and now Miss Baumhund and her Professor.

Hmmm. Yes. I hadn't thought of it precisely like that, but...

Yes. We are entering into a new round of misinformation tropes. May want to keep a very close eye on that.

I really don't know who's got what opinion of Tarvek at this point. Agatha seems to be starting to sort him out a bit: at the very least she knows what his alliance with her (and thus with Gil) is costing him. Theo found the three-way spark collaboration fascinating. Violetta is beginning to retro-fit her understanding of her former boss...and seems to have come down on his side. Krosp? If he figures out Tarvek's mainly on Agatha's side, he may be grateful for another voice of reason. Or jealous of his place as adviser. He is a cat, after all.

Zeetha seems to be firmly Team Wulfenbach, but, then, you gotta root for your family, eh? Higgs seems to have a more complex understanding of Tarvek, but he's Higgs, so I don't know what that sums up to.

Wooster? No idea.

I do wish they'd told us just a bit more about what GIL thinks is going on with Team Sturmvoraus in the novel. They did far too good a job of letting us know there's a strong bias there, but not telling us enough to sort out the bits we know (thin bits of Klaus, thin bits of Paris) from anything new and substantial.

It would make sense for Wooster, once he has some real information, to have the easiest time making sense of Tarvek. He's perfectly placed to understand the compromises that being undercover place on someone; and to try to evaluate complex data.

Not that that would make him Tarvek's best buddy neccessarily.

It would be fascinating to see the two of them trying to get along, though. I wonder if Her Undying Majesty had a man in Sturmhalten and what they knew.
